The Sociedad Benéfica Pro-Emigrantes Españoles en la República Dominicana, known as LA BENÉFICA, is a non-profit institution founded on December 14, 1982, by a group of Spanish residents in the country.
It was born from hearts of solidarity, with the mission of welcoming those emigrants who lacked the resources to sustain themselves or could not return to Spain. La Benéfica is run by the Sisters of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts, who lovingly care for a group of Spanish and Dominican elderly, giving them a dignified home in their golden years.
